Paddle with the Salmon: Tuolumne River

Join us for our intermediate Paddle with the Salmon on the Tuolumne River.

Kayaks will be provided. Seats are limited. Reserve your space today!

For thousands of years, every fall, the Chinook Salmon return to the Tuolumne River to spawn. Chinook Salmon are considered one of the most important keystone species on the West Coast. To celebrate this incredible ecological tradition, we will paddle a 3 mile scenic stretch of the Tuolumne River.

What to Expect

Our intermediate level Paddle with the Salmon trips will guide paddlers along a 3 mile stretch of the Lower Tuolumne River in La Grange, California in search for spawning Chinook salmon. Choose your river trip; we’ll offer guided intermediate-level journeys along the Tuolumne on November 2 or 3 from 9:00am - 3:00pm.

Paddle with the Salmon is led by expert river guides and supported by TRT staff who will share a short educational program about the lives of salmon and the surrounding Tuolumne ecosystem.

This is not whitewater section of the river, but there are some rocks, riffles, small rapids, and brush to navigate around. Experience with moving water and comfort steering around obstacles is encouraged for this intermediate route.

Each paddler will be outfitted with a sit-on-top kayak, paddle, and life jacket.
Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and Guide safety recommendations is a must!
