Tate grew up in Mount Shasta, California where she was introduced to the wonders of the natural world. She got a B.S. in environmental science with an emphasis on freshwater and terrestrial ecology and a minor in geology from Western Washington University. Previously, Tate worked as a raft guide on the Tuolumne River and is excited to combine her recreational and professional interests with the Tuolumne River Trust. She is serving as a restoration specialist through the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership Program to help restore the meadows and forests of the Tuolumne watershed. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, and river time!
