Born and raised in Truckee, California, Sam has always been passionate about the outdoors and working to protect and restore the places he calls home. As a geographer, he seeks to highlight human-environment relationships with maps and data.

After graduating from Middlebury College with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies, he worked for several conservation nonprofits in Truckee before moving to Sonora to pursue his GIS career with Tuolumne County. He now joins Tuolumne River Trust to combine his passions of working for the environment and empowering users with GIS.
